Alpaca Wool

Alpaca wool is super soft and totally hypo-allergenic which makes it ideal for baby clothes and blankets as well as highly elite fashion ware that will last a lifetime, like pashminas, jumpers and for the more adventurous; jackets and coats.
In Peru it is considered an honour to receive alpaca clothing and it is not uncommon to find alpaca clothes being handed down from generation to generation as treasured heirlooms.

Alpaca is not only luxuriously soft and silky to touch but offers the extra benefits of being durable, washable, colourful, lightweight and above all extremely warm due to the alpacas unique hollow core fibres.

Here at Herts Alpacas we are pleased to be able to offer a highly elite range of 50g balls of wool.  We only use the finest selected fleeces from our own elite herd and our yarn is graded into ‘Super fine’ and ‘Ultra fine.’
Ultra fine is truly elite coming purely from our baby alpacas and is the softest of all fibres being under 18 microns. Our super fine which is from a selection of our elite adult herd being under 20 microns.
Our yarn should not be confused with other non graded yarn. Our yarn is pure 100% alpaca grown and produced on our farm to guarantee the highest quality.
